Muniz started his acting career at a young age of eight years as he was discovered at a talent show in Raleigh, North Carolina, to where his family had moved. He firstly performed in commercials, and his first TV film role was in “Dance With Olivia” in 1997. He then had a small role in the movie “Lost and Found” which did not add a lot to his net worth, but provided him a way to a major role on “Malcolm in the Middle”.
