Michael attended The Thatcher School and after matriculating went to the Wesleyan University, graduating in 1980 a year ahead of his intended year. He was cast in his first major acting role in 1982’s “All My Children”, one of the longest airing soap operas from ABC of which Knight was a part from 1982 to 1986; he also returned to the show two years later, joining for another two years, before returning for a second time in 1992, and remaining in the series until its finale in 2011. He was also part of the revival in 2013. His work with the show has helped increase his net worth significantly. He was also a part of “AMC” from 1993 to 1994.
One of Michael’s first major film opportunities was a starring role in “Date with an Angel”, a romantic comedy film directed by Tom McLoughlin.
