Thad Luckinbill was the elder twin brother to Trent Luckinbill, who is a lawyer and his partner in the production company Black Label Media. Thad showed his various talents from an early age, singing in the youth choir at Emmanuel Baptist church. Later, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma, majoring in business finance. Only after finishing his higher education did he start pursuing an acting career.
Thad broke into show business as a cast member of the MTV anthology series “Undressed” in 1999. Immediately after came his perhaps best known role, that of J. T. Hellstrom in the television soap opera “The Young and the Restless”, who he portrayed for almost ten years (1999-2010). Despite his long tenure on the show, Thad found the time to guest-star in several popular television series during the 2000s, including the legal drama “JAG” (2002), supernatural drama series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (2002), medical drama “Nip/Tuck” (2006), and all the installments in the CSI franchise – “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2006), “CSI: NY” (2009), and “CSI: Miami” (2010).
