Kelly grew up in her hometown, and went to Lafayette High School in Wildwood, where she was a rather successful cheerleader, even being written about in the American Cheerleader magazine.

Aftermatriculating, she enrolled at the University of Missouri, Columbia, from which she obtained a BA degree in Communications, with a minor in television and theatre performance.

Kelly’s career started firstly on stage, appearing in numerous plays, but two of them stand out; the portrayal of Wendy in “Peter Pan”, and as Sleeping Beauty in the play of the same name.

She started her on-screen career in a minor role in the TV series “The Grubbs” in 2002, which was followed by the role of Molly in the made-for-television film “B.S” the same year. In 2003 she portrayed Lydia Meryton in the romantic comedy “Pride and Prejudice”, based on the novel of the same name written by Jane Austen. In 2005 she played Evil Samara in the sequel of the mystery horror “The Ring”, taking the stunt-double duties for Daveigh Chase, who played Samara. Kelly received praise for her performance, which only increased her popularity in the acting world, and potentially her net worth.

Three years later she was selected for the recurring role of Melissa in the sitcom “Two and a Half Men” (2008-2010), starring Charlie Sheen, John Cryer, and Angus T. Jones.
