Bobby grew up in his hometown of Los Angeles with his two brothers and a sister. He went to Colony High School, 35 miles east of Los Angeles’ downtown, where he started playing football as a linebacker and tight end, catching 37 passes for 595 yards which were enough for 11 touchdowns, while as a linebacker, Bobby made a total of 125 tackles and made four sacks. Thanks to his great plays, Bobby received several honors, including for all-CIF Central Division as well as the all-Mount Baldy League. Furthermore, he won the division title with his high school, and earned a spot in the all-San Bernardino County team.

Despite his efforts, Rivals.com considered him only as a two-star recruit, and as a result, Bobby didn’t receive as many college offers as other players, in fact his only offer came from Utah State, and Bobby became a student of the aforementioned university. His college career was quite good since he was a starting linebacker and made 445 tackles overall in addition to 4.5 sacks and four interceptions. Alone in senior year, he had 147 tackles, four sacks, and two intercepted passes.

After a successful career in college, Bobby declared for the 2012 NFL Draft, and was selected by the Seattle Seahawks as the 47th overall pick. Bobby continued to improve his game and in the rookie season played in all 16 games, making 140 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions, which earned him selection into the PFWA All-Rookie Team. The following season his contribution was even higher, and he was one of the lead players in the Super Bowl and helped his team defeat the Denver Broncos.

Bobby started off the 2014 season at a tremendous level with 10 or more tackles in five games, but suffered an injury that kept him sidelined for five games, so played in 11 games overall. Despite that, he dominated the field with 104 tackles and two sacks. His performance earned him his first Pro-Bowl appearance, and selection in the First-team All-Pro.

Bobby continued with his dominant plays, and earned two more Pro-Bowl selections in 2015 and 2016, while in 2016 he was also named into First-team All-Pro for the second time in his career.

Thanks to his performance, Seahawks’ officials decided to extend his contract, and in 2015 he signed a contract worth $43 million over four years, which increased his wealth to a large degree.

Most recently he broke the franchise record for most tackles in a season with 168, surpassing Terry Beeson who had 153 tackles.
