Speaking about his early life, Odell was raised in Baton Rouge and attended high school at Isidore Newman, where he scored notable results in basketball, football and track, and having matriculated he went on to enroll into Louisiana State University, following the footsteps of his parents who both attended it. At LSU he continued achieving notable results and his efforts were recognized when he was rewarded with the Paul Hornung Award in his junior year. In addition to that he earned first-team All-American honors, finishing his college career in a high position in the history of the university.
Having graduated, he was selected by the New York Giants, being the 12th overall pick in 2014 National Football League (NFL) Draft, and signed a contract with the team during, but suffered an injury which caused him to miss the majority of the training camp. Nevertheless, he made his debut in October against the Atlanta Falcons, and had four receptions and scored a touchdown. In the following period, Beckham’s team played against the Indianapolis Colts, in which he caught eight passes, and subsequently caught seven passes for 108 yards in a match against the Seattle Seahawks.
