To begin with, Meltzer first grew up in Brooklyn, and later in South Florida, where he matriculated from North Miami Beach Senior High School in 1988. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Meltzer initially lived in Beacon Hill, Boston, where he wrote his first novel, before completing his second degree in Law at Columbia Law School.
Concerning his subsequent professional career, Meltzer published his first novel – “The Tenth Justice” – in 1998, followed by seven others, which were commercially successful, so that they entered the bestseller list of the New York Times. As a comic author, Meltzer wrote sixteen editions of the adventure series “Green Arrow” (2002), the miniseries “Identity Crisis” (2004) and the series “Justice League of America” (2007). “Identity Crisis” sold very well, because of the taboo subject of cowardice in dealing with a serial rapist.
