Born in Chicago, Illinois, Thor attended Sacred Heart Schools and Francis W. Parker School in Chicago during his early years of education. He went on to pursue a degree in creative writing at the University of Southern California, and graduated cum laude.
Thor’s career started in television, in which he created, produced, wrote, and hosted the show “Traveling Lite”. The travel oriented show provided a guide on travelling through European cities without breaking the bank, and was aired on national public television. The show lasted from 1995 to 1999 and won couple of awards, helping his career and his net worth.
After the success of “Traveling Lite”, Thor then focused on writing novels. His debut work was released in 2002 entitled “The Lions of Lucerne”. The success of his first novel was then followed by his other equally successful books including “Path of the Assassin”, “State of The Union”, “Blowback”, “Foreign Influence”, “The Athena Project” and “Hidden Order” to name a few.
