Ever since his early teen years, Nathan has been interested in computer coding; when he was 12, Nathan posted his first creation online, and by the time he was 14 he started earning money, which eventually led to a small company that created software. Nathan attended the Boston Latin Academy, a public high school, and while there his attention became more and more directed towards computer science. After high school, he enrolled at Harvard University, from which he graduated with Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science in 2005.
The same year he graduated, Nathan found his first engagement with employment in the software development business, when he was hired as an engineer for the OPNET Technologies. He stayed there for two years, and then in 2007 he was appointed as Lead Developer at Batiq, increasing his net worth to a large degree.
However, his life slowly began to change from 2008, and the founding of Airbnb; his friend Joe Gebbia, asked him if he would create and further develop the site for the company, then called AirBed & Breakfast. At first their business fell into a slump, but in 2009 it stood on its feet, following Brian`s idea of putting the Y Combinator and creating “Obama O’s” and “Cap’n McCain’s” based on Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain helped it to survive.
