Kacy attended high school in Belleville, New Jersey though even before that she was already doing gymnastics. After matriculating, she attended Towson University on an athletic scholarship from 2009 to 2012, studying early childhood education. While at Towson, she competed in gymnastics as part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and was named Southeast Regional Gymnast of the Year and Easter College Athletic Conference Gymnast in 2012; she was the top-ranked competitor for the conference.

In 2013, she worked for the obstacle-course gym Alpha Warrior, meantime spending two years training for “American Ninja Warrior” alongside co-competitor Brent Steffensen. She was not able to complete the qualifying course, but was invited to the 2013 finals as a wildcard, but was unsuccessful. The following year she made history by being the first woman to complete a qualifying course of “American Ninja Warrior”, and was also the first woman to make it up to the warped wall. She competed in the finals of season six, the first woman to ever complete a city finals course. The run was notable since she was able to complete it despite her short frame; in some obstacles, she had to leap in order to finish them. This run helped create the hashtag #MightyKacy, and helped her to gain popularity on social media. Her net worth started to increase, though she was not able to complete the first round of the National Finals. In 2015, she competed once again but failed to complete the qualifier. She was also invited as a wildcard but was not able to do so, once again apparently feeling the immense pressure of her popularity.

In 2016, she was invited to be part of the original Japanese version of the TV show, but timed out on the final obstacle, although still setting the record for the furthest a female has gone in the competition with higher difficulty and a renewal of the course.

Kacy has also co-hosted the “Team Ninja Warrior College Madness” series, and her continued endeavors have helped to increase her net worth. It was also reported that she tried out for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2017, being featured as part of the WWE Performance Center.

For her personal life, it is known that she had a relationship with Brent Steffensen who helped coach her towards her City Finals course completion, but remains single.
