Raised in Harlem, Max was born to Sharon who was jailed for a year and a half for possession of and addiction to crack, so Max B was brought up by his grandparents, in a strictly religious household which was much influenced by music. As a child, Max used to sing in the Boys Choir of Harlem, but in his teenage years Max was more influenced by the streets, and when he was 18 years old, Max was incarcerated for robbery for eight years, 1997 to 2005.

It was only after his release from prison that Max started his career as a rapper and recording artist. In 2005, Max was introduced to Jim Jones with whom he worked in a band named Byrd Gang, and featured in several songs. The songs in which Max was featured in the initial phase of his career include “Baby Girl”, “G’s Up”, “You Gotta Love It” and more. Until today, Max has released several mixtapes including “Million Dollar Baby”, “Public Domain: The Prequel”, “Wavie Crockett”, “Wave Season”, “A Wave Called Yes”, “Toothy Wavy” and more. Of course, all of these releases have paid quite a lot to Max over the years.

Apart from mixtapes, Max B is also popular for compilations with several highly regarded artists such as Funkmaster Flex, Cam’ron, Styles P, Kurious and others. Some of the albums he’s been a part of include “Max Payne”, “Wave Music”, “Hook King” and “The Best Of Max B & Al Pac” among several others. Until today, Max B has released only one studio album, entitled “Vigilante Season”. These albums also have significance in adding to Max’s net worth in all the 10 years of his career.

As for his personal life, the 37 years old rapper is now incarcerated in the state prison of New Jersey serving a 75-year sentence for murder conspiracy and robbery, all appeals having been denied.
