French actually grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, but entered the radio industry during his early 20s, working for rock stations such as KISW/Seattle and KXPK/Denver. He also spent some time working as a video editor. In 2003 he landed a job at the Cleveland modern rock radio station WXTM, and launched his “Rover’s Morning Glory” show, with co-hosts Duji and Dominic Dieter. The show, consisting of commentary on a variety of topics related to current events, pop culture, politics, as well as the staff’s personal stories, soon became one of the top-rated programs in the Cleveland radio market, bringing French a great level of popularity. His net worth started to rise.
As the acclaimed “The Howard Stern Show” moved to Sirius Satellite Radio in 2006, “Rover’s Morning Glory” subsequently moved to Chicago, to serve as a regional replacement for Stern onWCKG and several affiliated stations. Later that year, the show moved its flagship back to WXRX, which meanwhile became the new call-sign of the show’s former Cleveland station WXTM. This was then changed to WKRI, and later to WKRK-FM. French hosted the show at WKRK-FM for around a year and a half, reinforcing his popularity and improving his wealth.
Then, in early 2008 he signed a deal with WMMS/Cleveland, which eventually moved to the iHeartRadio platform at iHeartMedia, Inc.. In 2013, his show began airing a tape delay version on satellite radio over the Extreme Talk channel, and has since added several more affiliates. Aside from replaying continuously on iHeartRadio channel, the show has also been available on demand through iHeartRadio and has been broadcast over the Livestream video platform.
French’s “Rover’s Morning Glory” has had its own annual festival called RoverFest, and an annual golf outing event. It has organized events such as the “Miss Morning Glory”, gathering a great number of sponsors and a wide audience. Being involved in such events as well as hosting a show which has achieved such an extraordinary popularity, has enabled French to collect an impressive fan base, and to earn considerable net worth. It also brought him honors such as being named the best Cleveland radio personality in 2009, 2014, and 2015 by readers of Cleveland Scene.
Speaking about his personal life, unlike the time when French was dating the porn star named Raylene, when he reportedly wired his home with webcams so that listeners could watch him and his girlfriend 24/7, he is now quite secretive about his privacy. According to sources, he is currently in a relationship with a girl named Susan, a talent coach for on-air personalities.
French made headlines in 2013, when he was arrested for aggravated disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, vandalism, fireworks, inducing panic and assault towards an off-duty Cleveland police officer. He later agreed to a plea deal that put him on probation for one year, and was fined $750.
