James’ professional musical career began in the mid-1980s, when he started playing drums in such bands as the McAuley Schenker Group, Buster Brown, Kingdom Come and Montrose among many others. With Kingdom Come, he performed on its debut self-titled studio album, second studio album entitled “In Your Face”, and they released the hit single “Get It On”, which marked the beginning of an increase to his net worth, and his popularity.
His breakthrough year was 1996, when he joined the German hard rock band Scorpions, which was formed in 1965. The first studio album on which he performed out came in 1999 entitled “Eye II Eye”, which peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. At that time, they released a single in their native language for the first time in their career – “Du Bist So Schmutzig”, which also added a considerable amount to his net worth. In the following year, he performed on their next studio album “Moment Of Glory”, reaching No. 3 on the German Albums Chart and increasing further his fortune.
The new millennium didn’t change too much for James, as he continued successfully with his musical career, contributing on the band’s album “Acoustica” (2001), which achieved platinum status.
