Raised in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and London, Bo Bice grew up with his mother, grandmother and step-father; his mother and grandmother were both gospel singers, and Bo was inclined towards music from his teenage days while he was attending London Central High School. At the time, he also formed his first band entitled “Spinning Jenny”, and started experimenting with alternative rock music. When he turned 18, Bo left London to return to America; although he didn’t finish his high school in London, he got a GED from the USA. Later on, he enrolled at the University of North Alabama, but dropped out to pursue a career in music. Soon, he started singing as a part of bands including “Purge”, “Sugar Money” and “Sued Nickel”. Along with other members of “Purge”, Bo became noted as a veteran in the nightclub circuits in America. In 1999, Bo released his first alum entitled “Ex Gratia” as a part of “Purge”, and later in 2000 he released “Recipe for Flavor” with the band “SugarMoney”.

His career took a turn when he auditioned for the 2005 season of “American Idol”. During the reality show, Bo sang popular songs including “Whipping Post” by The Allman Brothers Band, “Get Ready” by The Temptations, “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain and “Spinning Wheel” by Blood, Sweat and Tears among several others. At the finale of the season, Bo Bice sang his single “Inside Your Heaven”, and although the song became a hit, the finale winner was Carrie Underwood with Bice finishing as a runner-up. However, following “American Idol”, he was signed by RCA Records, and the same year Bo released his first solo album – “The Real Thing”. The album became popular in the USA reaching number four in the charts. This was a pivotal time in Bice’s career, as his net worth began to rise.

Since “American Idol”, Bice has released three studio albums, and has been touring as the lead singer of Blood, Sweat and Tears.
